WHAT IS A BLESSED LIFE!

Many people have different views of what it means to have a blessed. Some feel it is a job or wealth or health. Others feel that is a happy home or a successful life. Yet still others feel that it is a life without problems or sufferings. What do you think a blessed life is?

I do not know what you believe a blessed life to be but I can be assured of two things. 1) You will be living your life to try and achieve this blessing.2) You will be very disappointed and frustrated if you not obtaining such blessings.

Today many believe that to be blessed is to be wealthy and healthy and if you are not you have sin or a demon and are not right with God. Which sounds great unless you are poor and unhealthy and walking with the Lord, then it does not sound so great. It is also interesting to note that those who teach such doctrine of demons also require that you tithe faithfully to their organisation.

To have good health and to be financial well off is good but be certain our health will fail for it is appointed unto man once to die. Riches also bring with them many other problems and responsibility and as our Lord says, what does it profit a man if he inherit the whole world and loose his soul. The blessings God gives moth, rust and thief can not take away but rather it lasts into eternity.

When we look at the Word of God we see that true blessing is to have Christ. In fact the word Blessed used of our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 5 means a rich indwelling of Christ. That is what God says is blessing. If we think it is things we will run after them and where our treasure is there also is our heart. If we see blessing as the indwelling of Christ we will seek Him and set our affections on things above.

Problem with many of us is that when we are born again we discard, as it were, Jesus, we see Him as a step to other blessings and not realising HE is the blessing. John 3:16 tells us God gave us His Son and God has nothing else to give us outside of His Son. God in other words put everything into Jesus and when we take Jesus we take all of God and all of His blessing. Consider this:- The Godhead dwells body in Christ (Col.2:9)- We are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ (Eph.1:3)- All the promises are yes and amen in Christ (2Cor.1:20)- Christ is our life (Col.1:4)

He is the blessing and as we seek Him, in His Word and in pray and at the cross we will be blessed for we will find Him. My prayer is that we will stop seeking things and start seeking Him.

In closing I want to leave you with the words of a chorus we sing at the mission:

He is all I need,

Jesus is all I need,

I will take Him now,

I will take Him now,

For all that I need,
